21 January 2013: Auto Assembly Europe 2013 cancelled

We regret to inform that 2013 will not see an Auto Assembly Europe convention. The convention comittee has decided that, due to various personal and health-related issues amongst us, it would be in the best interest for all parties that we would postpone the convention again this year. Nothing pains us more than doing this for the 2nd year in a row, but we feel that we would not be able to make the convention that we'd like it to be for our attendees, so we will try again to regroup and pool our resources for a better 2014.

If you still want the ultimate Transformers convention experience for 2013, then look no further than Auto Assembly 2013 (the original one in the UK!), which is happening August 9th to August 11th in Birmingham. And if that isn't an option for you, we want to encourage our Scandinavian friends to try and organise smaller, local meet-ups instead. If anything, conventions are about meeting and hanging out with similar-minded friends, and even though there won't be a big convention this year in the Nordic it shouldn't prevent people from meeting and having fun anyway - be it at Auto Assembly UK or at a local meet-up.

Please let us know if you are a group getting together - perhaps only for one evening in the privacy of your home, or banding together to go to the UK in August! If something local is happening the AAE comittee will do our best in helping making the occation as special as possible, using our unique connections to help making the event something to remember.

Thank you for your understading, and happy conventioning!

The Auto Assembly Europe Team
Peter, Lars, Dennis, Simon and Martin

14 May 2012: Auto Assembly 2012 in Birmingham, August 3-5

Now that the Auto Assembly Europe has been moved to autumn 2013, why not take the opportunity to visit the main Auto Assembly this year, in Birmingham on August 3-5?

The convention is currently running an "Auto Assembly Awareness Week", during which we will not only try to spread the word about the convention, but also release lots of news. There is for example a new trailer for the convention, available here.

So what will the convention feature? Well, for starters there are lots of celebrities who appear for the first time in Europe, among them Michael Bell (G1 Sideswipe, G1 Prowl, etc.), Paul Eiding (G1 Perceptor), and Townsend Coleman (Animated's Sentinel Prime). A long line of comic book creators will also be present as usual, like Simon Furman, Andrew Wildman and Stephen Baskerville (currently on Regeneration One); James Roberts and Nick Roche (More Than Meets The Eye and other titles), Livio Ramondelli (Chaos and Autocracy), and Jeff Anderson (Marvel UK's Transformers).

Then there are guest panels, free autograph sessions, dealers, video screenings, various displays, competitions, live script reading, a video games area, etc., etc. There's much more to mention, so you'd better check it out yourselves. smile.gif

8 May 2012: Auto Assembly Europe has been moved to 2013

We regret to inform you that we must move the next Auto Assembly Europe to autumn 2013.

Since the convention in November all the members of the organizer team has had to deal with various personal and health concerns, and we simply haven’t been able to invest nearly as much effort in the convention as we would have liked and needed.
With six months left until the intended date we feel that maybe we could still pull off presenting a so-so convention this autumn, but we don’t want to settle for merely ”acceptable” - we want to surpass and go beyond! And by taking a gap year in 2012 and postponing Auto Assembly Europe to autumn 2013 instead, we ensure that we can do just that.

The planning for AAE 2013 starts right away, and with almost 1,5 year to go we should be able to announce a date and venue well in advance of the convention this time.

So that you won't be completely bereft of AAEurope goodness this year, we intend to renew our efforts to put together the Auto Assembly Europe magazine, originally intended as a post-convention magazine but put on ice for quite some time because of the aforementioned health problems. Work on the magazine will resume soon!

Another piece of AAE goodness has also just been sent out to the AAEurope 2011 attendees - those of you who hadn't already reserved a copy from the NTFA Store, will receive a copy of the Free Comic Book Day comic, Transformers Regeneration One #80.5, as a gift from the Auto Assembly Europe committee! The issue should be delivered to all the Swedish attendees today, and to the non-Swedish attendees tomorrow.

We hope to see you in autumn 2013!

- Lars, Martin, Peter and Dennis

11 April 2012: Auto Assembly 2012/Auto Assembly Europe 2012 - important goodie bag update

(this press release for Auto Assembly concerns Auto Assembly Europe as well, since AAE offers mostly the same goodie bag contents as AA)

It is with great sadness that we are forced to announce a change to the advertised Auto Assembly 2012 attendee goodie bags. This change will affect every attendee who is eligible to receive a goodie bag, so it would be most appreciated if we could please have your attention for just a moment.

It had been our intention to include a free IDW Transformers comic within every goodie bag this year. This comic was to be an exclusive variant cover of Regeneration One Issue 81. The comic was going to be limited to a print run of just 1,000 copies and only made available at Auto Assembly and Auto Assembly Europe. (Long term fans will remember that we also had exclusive IDW comics in 2009 and 2010).

The cover was going to use 1980's style artwork, drawn by marvel Transformers artist Jeff Anderson, with colours by Kris Carter and was intended to be a tribute to the Marvel UK run featuring a special "corner box" with art by Nick Roche. As an homage to the Marvel UK series, which culminated in issue 332, our plan was to use dual numbers on the front of the comic, meaning it would have been both issue 81 and issue 333. A true exclusive for our attendees.

Martin Fisher from the Auto Assembly team worked very hard to make the comic a reality, as did IDW; we therefore wish to extend our sincere thanks both to Martin and to IDW editor John Barber, who took time out of his busy schedule to try and make the exclusive comic a success for our attendees. John's work is massively appreciated and it should be noted that he and IDW did everything in their power to bring issue 333 to life. We are truly grateful for their support.

Sadly, the comic was not to be. At the 11th hour, with our artists poised to start work on the new cover, the issue was vetoed, seemingly without any explanation by the license holders, Hasbro US.

Obviously this has come as a great disappointment to ourselves and no doubt, will be to our attendees as well. We would like to explain why the decision was taken but sadly, no explanation has been given to us other than that Hasbro US do not at this time wish for IDW to produce another Auto Assembly comic. Sadly, it is our understanding that IDW themselves have not been presented with a firm reason either.

On behalf of the entire Auto Assembly committee, we are truly sorry that we are not able to provide you, our attendees, with the exclusive IDW comic which you had been promised. However, we are sure our attendees will appreciate that sadly, this issue is completely beyond the control of both Auto Assembly and IDW, who worked together in good faith before the plans were stopped. We are sure there is probably a very simple reason for the decision made by Hasbro US and if we receive further explanation from them we will of course share it with you.

So, the question now is, were does this leave your goodie bags? Well, as sad as we are, we absolutely refuse to leave our attendees disappointed - we promised you a comic and we are still going to deliver on that promise!

Obviously we are not able to produce an official comic for the reasons outlined above, but that gives us a great deal of flexibility. So rather than simply giving you an exclusive cover, we are going to give you a completely new full colour comic! This will be included in all eligible goodie bags, free of charge.

Jeff Anderson will still be providing the cover artwork for this new comic and Kris Carter too is adamant that attendees should receive a first class product and so, as well as providing cover colours, Kris has begun writing an exclusive 6 page comic script for us. But that's not all you will receive in this issue. Our current plan, ambitious as it may be so close to our print deadline, is to give you an issue which includes at least three different comic stories, created by collaborations between professional comic creative talent and fans alike. The response we have had from our artists is both fantastic and humbling; they are truly lighting our darkest hour by putting the "Assembly" into Auto Assembly!

In addition to this comic, goodie bags will also include a copy of our full colour convention exclusive fanzine, The Cybertronian Times (which in previous years had been an additional £7 purchase). And of course, you will still receive the usual array of convention exclusive merchandise, including Auto Assembly postcards which might just have some artwork you could have signed by our guests of honour!

And to really show you just how much we appreciate your understanding and support, we are planning to include one or two surprise goodie bag items; of course, we're not going to give everything away just yet, so you'll just have to check your goodie bags for those!

Furthermore, whilst the issue with the IDW comic is sadly out of our hands, we cannot simply stand by and watch our attendees being short changed. We do very much believe that the goodie bag on offer is great value for money, but Auto Assembly only comes by once a year and we want our attendees to be able to take home with them something extra special to remind them of the show.

Therefore, after much consideration we have decided to increase production of our convention exclusive lithograph. Previously only available to attendees who had booked rooms in the Hilton at our convention rate, we are instead going to provide a copy of the lithograph – free of charge – to each and every attendee who should have received the exclusive comic in their goodie bags. This is going to be a large scale, full colour print, produced by a professional artist, which will be available exclusively at Auto Assembly events this year.

Finally, as a special treat for everybody who has taken the time to read this statement, we thought we'd give you a heads up that a major comic guest is going to cross the ocean to attend Auto Assembly 2012 - and we will be announcing that person sometime in the next 14 days! And we will also be announcing the artist for our lithograph as well so keep your eyes peeled!

Sadness and disappointment aside, we are determined to provide you with the best ever Auto Assembly goodie bag this year. We wish to thank you for your continued support of the convention and, once again, we wish to offer our sincere thanks to IDW. Now let's make Auto Assembly 2012 the best convention ever!

27 February 2012: An important message from our parent organization, Auto Assembly, regarding credit card bookings

QUOTE
We know that many Transformers fans across the globe are currently concerned about repeated incidents of credit card fraud that have been taking place recently that are affecting many of you in these difficult financial times. To allay any concerns that you may have, bookings for Auto Assembly 2012 are still open and have been unaffected by this and we have not had any issues regarding credit / debit card fraud since the convention started in 2000.

We have been using PayPal to handle all our transactions safely since 2004 and are happy to offer alternative methods of payment for anyone wishing to attend the convention if you do have any concerns about paying using any electronic method. I can personally assure you that none of my team have access to any of your financial details or any of your personal information other than your name, address and email address which we need for the purpose of the convention itself.

In addition, I offer my personal guarantee that none of this information is shared with any third part organisation or individual not involved in the running of the convention.

Simon Plumbe
Auto Assembly Committee Head

We can add that these incidents don't affect Auto Assembly Europe either. We too have always been using PayPal, alongside regular bank payments, both for convention fees and for the sales of leftover convention merchandise, so there's no risk for our customers either.

22 November 2011: Auto Assembly Europe 2011 Charity Auctions!

Auto Assembly Europe 2011 Charity Auctions!

As we said before the convention, this year's raised funds will be donated to IM (Individuell Mnniskohjlp). A direct English translation of the name would be Individual Humanitarian Aid.

IM are based in Lund, Sweden and have been active since 1938. They work with long term plans in thirteen countries, focusing on health care, education, and the ability for people to provide for themselves. They also have local programs for school children, homeless, the elderly and disabled, and run several fair trade stores.

You can visit their website here but some pages are only available in Swedish.

We chose this charity because as a small-scale one, less funds go towards administrative costs and more is put directly to use! IM has a 90-account, a special, authorized account type for charity organizations only, which is a guarantee that they meet certain criteria. Every organisation with a 90-account is monitored by SFI, a Swedish authority for control of fundraising projects.

We raised a massive 9655 SEK this year, and we are very happy about that! Our deepest gratitude and thanks go to everyone who donated items and placed bids! smile.gif
We want your opinions on exactly what to spend the money on though! smile.gif

Naturally, we will provide some sort of evidence once the donation has been made!

Select as few or as many options in the poll as you like. We will then use the money in a ratio based on the most popular ones smile.gif

Follow the link here to see the poll and read more about what options there are and what they mean!

Special thanks to our guest Simon Furman who was as great as always! We also thank the people who donated to, and placed bids, for our charity auctions, and the volunteers who helped us set everything up on Saturday morning, and take everything down on Sunday evening!

See you next year in Malm! ;)

12 November 2011: Pre-registration for the convention has closed

Pre-registration for Auto Assembly Europe has now closed, but you can still attend the convention by paying at the door.

The prices remain the same:
420 SEK for the whole weekend for adults (16 and up)
280 SEK for the whole weekend for children (up to 16)
235 SEK for a single day
Children under 12 in company of an adult get in for free.
Family tickets cost 980 SEK, and are valid for the full weekend.

Have you paid for a single day but want to extend your stay to a full weekend? Then you only pay the difference between the two prices.

10 November 2011: Minor update - Uppsala map now available

We have added a map over central Uppsala to help you find the way from the central station to the hotel. The local currency exchange office is also marked on the map.

9 November 2011: Extended deadlines

We have evaluated our workload, and it turns out that we can extend a few of the deadlines:

Registration for the convention itself:
Provided that you pay over PayPal right away, there's no reason why we can't accept registrations the entire Friday.
If you're paying from PlusGiro to my PlusGiro (only within Sweden), it should work if you execute the transfer no later than 14:00 on Friday.
No matter how you're paying, the important part is that the payment reaches me sometime on Friday. Otherwise you will have to pay at the door (even if you're already initiated a bank transfer).
Have I forgotten to confirm the receipt of a bank transfer? In that case, you can drop me a line at groundsplitter@autoassemblyeurope.eu to ask for confirmation.

Entries for the fanfic competition:
We set Thursday as the deadline, but provided that you send your entry by e-mail, you can do it on Friday as well. Remember: maximum 1000 words for prose text, or three pages (15 panels) for a comic.
More information on the fanfic competition here.

Entries for the post-convention magazine:
We can extend the deadline until after the convention, say, to November 18 at least - we won't start work on the magazine earlier anyway, since we need time to look at the photos and get things in order after the convention. So this means that you can bring along material for the magazine to the convention itself, if you like!

Fan Sales Table submissions and reservations
We set Thursday as the deadline, but provided that you send your entry by e-mail you can do it on Friday as well!

Not a deadline as such, but still relevant info:
The Auto Assembly Europe art competition
Some people have asked if the displayed material has to be newly produced. We have no such restrictions - if you have old artwork, customs, models etc. that you would like to display, those are fine too. We just want you to preferably tell us in advance, so we can organize our display cabinets properly.

6 November 2011: Fourth dealer confirmed!

We can now confirm that a fourth dealer will be present at Auto Assembly Europe!

Transformers Video Games.co.uk specializes in Transformers video games, dating all the way back to the mid-80s and right up until the latest games, on all various platforms!

4 November 2011: Schedule and Dealer info online!

Tonight we've updated the Auto Assembly Europe website with info regarding our selection of dealers and the schedule for the weekend!

Please bear in mind that the schedule can be edited at any time and nothing is set in stone, so remember to check back often for the latest one!

4 November 2011: DairyCon sponsors Auto Assembly Europe with prizes!

Yes! That's right!

The kind people of DairyCon have kindly donated some of their 2011 Actionmaster Ravage exclusives, and a few lucky people will go home with them next weekend! wink2.gif

Check out DairyCon here! And why not book tickets and go there next year? smile.gif

1 November 2011: Auto Assembly Europe 2011 Fan Sales Table

Auto Assembly Europe will have a table connected to the registration desk where you can sell any Transformers-related items. We'll take care of the entire selling process for you, and you can just come and collect your money when you feel like it smile.gif If you have to leave early or for some reason don't want your items to be for sale any more, you can get them back at any time!

For a full set of information and rules, please check this link: http://www.autoassemblyeurope.eu/2011/fansalestable.php

25 October 2011: Announcing the Auto Assembly Europe fanfic competition + the post-convention magazine

Time to present a new competition for Auto Assembly Europe - and this one is open to everyone in the Nordic countries, regardless of whether you're attending or not! (all registered attendees, regardless of where they live, can also participate)

On a suggestion from our celebrity guest Simon Furman, we have decided to arrange a Fanfic Competition, with the entries to be judged by Simon Furman himself during the AAEurope weekend! The winning entry and a few runner-ups will receive nice prizes, and the winning entries will also be published in our post-convention magazine (see below).

Rules:

  • Participation is open to everyone living in the Nordic countries, as well as already registered attendees from non-Nordic countries.
  • Entries must be written in English.
  • Entries can be either written or drawn (or both) - maximum 1000 words for prose text, or three pages (15 panels) for a comic.
  • Send your entries so that I have them no later than Thursday November 10, preferably by e-mail to groundsplitter@autoassemblyeurope.eu, or to my regular address (send me an e-mail for the address). Digital images should preferably be scanned in 150 dpi or better. Posted contributions will be returned to you if you cover the postage costs.
  • Limit one entry per person.
  • The judge's decision is final and cannot be overruled.
Auto Assembly Europe post-convention magazine:
A few weeks ago we asked whether there was any interest in producing another convention magazine, featuring articles and the Nordic TransFans artwork and other creations. The interest in the comic has been relatively high, but to save money the AAEurope committee has decided to scrap that idea in its original form this year. Instead we will be doing a post-convention magazine that will be made available shortly after the convention!

The post-convention magazine will feature reports and photos from the convention, at least one looong article (by Fighbird), the Nordic Transformers fans' artwork (as per the original idea), the winning entry/entries in the fanfic competition mentioned above, and perhaps even more!

Like last time, as an added incentive to participate, we will also award a prize to one or two entries! So this gives you a second chance to win something even if you are unable to attend!
The winner(s) will be determined by the AAEurope organization committee, and be announced in the post-convention magazine.

Basic rules for contributing to the magazine:
  • Participation is open to everyone living in the Nordic countries, as well as already registered attendees from non-Nordic countries.
  • We accept drawings/artwork, photos, photocomics, fanfics, etc. Entries should naturally be related to Transformers, and to play things safe it's probably best to avoid crossovers with characters from other franchises. Exceptions may be granted though, especially for photocomics (where the occasional figure or vehicle from another toyline does little harm as long as they don't have a large role).
  • Entries should preferably be written in English. Fanfics should preferably be relatively short, maybe two pages at the most in printed form (that's about 1000 words, as above). We won't automatically disqualify somewhat longer fanfics for the magazine, but the longer it is the greater the risk that we can't include it.
  • No absolute upper limit to how many entries you contribute, but we will have to draw the line somewhere, so say about three in total.
  • We reserve the right to refuse any entries. Since the magazine will reach a large number of people of various ages and various tastes, we will not accept anything offensive. That includes sex, nudity, gore and excessive violence.
  • We also reserve the right to edit fanfics for spelling and legibility (adding paragraphs, etc.), and the right to change the size, trim or edit images.
  • All entries will be labeled with the creators' names, to make it clear that you retain ownership of your own work.
Naturally the format of the magazine primarily lends itself towards artwork and fanfics, but if you want to contribute in some other way, maybe with photos of your kitbashes or displays, or maybe some article of your own, you are very welcome to contact me with your idea!

20 October 2011: Unique Animated display at Auto Assembly Europe

Every year at Auto Assembly Europe, we try to have a couple of different displays , showcasing various things like mold variations, unreleased products, customs, unusual toys, etc.

This year, amongst other things, we are doing a one of a kind display for the Nordic region, featuring what was probably the most popular Transformers series in years: Animated!

Now, it's not just any old display of Animated toys. This is a rather special one! The display will feature several pieces of interest, including:

* The complete BotCon 2011 "Stunti-con Job" set !
* The complete line-up of the BotCon 2011 souvenir figures (except the two that weren't using Animated molds)!
* The Transformers Collector's Club Exclusive Animated Transtech Cheetor figure!
* Several Japanese Animated toys that were never released in the west, including Blackout, Wingblade Prime, and Hydrodive Bumblebee!
* A wide range of Japanese exclusive Animated toys, including Hyper Hobby Black Rodimus, Elite Guard Prowl, Encyclopedia Elite Guard Optimus Prime, the Sons of Cybertron set, and more!
* Japanese Animated Lucky Draw figures!
* The completely unreleased Electromagnetic Soundwave toy, of which only two have ever surfaced!

This all comes together to create a rather unique and special look at a wide range of Animated toys that for several reasons never made it to the Nordic region.

Are you excited? We sure are! smile.gif

Come to Auto Assembly Europe in Uppsala, Sweden, on November 12-13 to have a look at this highly unusual display!

19 October 2011: Auto Assembly Europe Prize Bonanza, and FREE toys!

As mentioned earlier, Hasbro Nordic are once again very generously sponsoring us with competition prizes!

Without revealing too much, how does half a dozen Ultimate Primes sound? Or the huge Cyberverse Ark playset? We have them both, and loads more!

And that's not all!

Thanks to Hasbro Nordic, ALL attendees of Auto Assembly Europe will receive a FREE Cyberverse toy in their goodie bags for as long as supplies last!

In total, Hasbro Nordic have given us more than 100 (!!!!) Transformers toys which will all be given away to YOU, the attendees!

We wish to extend our deepest thanks to Hasbro Nordic for their prize sponsoring and for their help to make Auto Assembly Europe completely awesome! smile.gif

19 October 2011: Xybertoys are coming to Auto Assembly Europe!

Auto Assembly Europe are proud to announce that Xybertoys, a dealer well-known for their sales at Auto Assembly in England, are coming to Auto Assembly Europe!

This is particularly interesting for Scandinavians as we have no stores or local importers of TakaraTomy figures, which just happens to be what Xybertoys specializes in! We're talking Masterpiece, Alternity, Binaltech, Encore, United, Henkei! Henkei!, Kiss Players, and all those other awesome TakaraTomy toys we never see in this part of the world!

This is your chance to pick some of these great toys up, and the best part? No shipping costs, and no customs fees!

So take this chance and fill up your wallets and go crazy at the Xybertoys table at Auto Assembly Europe in Uppsala, Sweden, on November 12-13!

15 October 2011: Hotel rooms held until 21 October

If you haven't had an opportunity to book your hotel room at Clarion Hotel Gillet yet, you might be happy to know that the hotel has agreed to extend the reservation so that a number of rooms are reserved for the Auto Assembly Europe attendees until Friday October 21. The remaining rooms were actually supposed to be released yesterday, but now the convention attendees get priority for another six days!

Remember, to get the special discount on the hotel rooms, provide the booking code 51565 when you book by phone or e-mail.
More info here.

14 October 2011: Hasbro Nordic To Support Auto Assembly Europe Providing Competition Prizes!

Yes, we are pleased to announce that Hasbro Nordic will be involved in Auto Assembly Europe this year, providing a selection of prizes for the competitions we will be running over the weekend. In the past, Hasbro Nordic have very generously provided thousands of euros worth of prizes for us to give away and we are really excited to be working with them again this year!

Theres still time to book your tickets for the convention taking place over the weekend of 12th 13th November in Uppsala! Our first confirmed guest is comic legend Simon Furman and you can find our more about the convention or book your tickets by using the links to the left!

And remember: The sooner you book and pay for your ticket(s), the more stuff we can arrange for the convention! wink2.gif

9 October 2011: Volunteers wanted for offline advertising!

Let's see how many people we can fit into our venue at Clarion Hotel Gillet!

In order to maximize our budget so that we can give you the best convention possible, we need to reach out to as many attendees as possible. In an attempt to reach this goal, this week we have ordered professionally made flyers and posters to help promote the convention -- flyers and posters that we want your help to spread across the entire Nordic region and beyond!

If you know of a comic book store, scifi book store, toy store, or any other store in your neighborhood that you think should have the Auto Assembly Europe poster on display and our flyers available for their customers, send an e-mail to groundsplitter@autoassemblyeurope.eu and declare that you want to help out! All it will cost you is a bit of your time, we're paying the postage costs!

The flyers are in A6 size (1510,5 cm) and the posters are available in either A3 or A4 size (4230 or 3021 cm).
The general idea here is that the store should receive 1-2 posters each that they can put up on a wall, plus a bunch of the flyers to put on a counter (preferably the counter where the customers pay; it's up to you to convince them to give us the best placement possible.
Ideas for other arrangements are of course also welcome, like for instance if you attend a university where you know that there are other Transformers fans, we could send over a poster or two. Anything that you think can help increase the attendance number!

(The flyers will be packaged some 30-40 copies per packet, whatever turns out to be optimal considering the postage costs. Please make a reasonable assessment of how many copies you think that the store you're targetting can need; we will not be sending out any 400+ flyers to anyone just because you hope that they will be in that high demand. In that case it is better that you check back with the store regularly, and that we send additional packets when they are close to running out.)

All volunteers will receive a special mention in the convention programme, as a thank you for their help!

There are of course other ways you help us make support Auto Assembly Europe the best Nordic Transformers convention ever. Here are some suggestions:

2 October 2011: Got any unwanted or leftover Transformers items?

Here's an idea: Give them to us! smile.gif

We are doing a charity auction at Auto Assembly Europe this year, where we will donate the proceeds to charity!

You can bring your items with you to the convention and donate them for the charity auction, or contact us by using this contact form at NTFA.net where you describe your items so we can announce them before the convention!

It's a win-win situation! You get rid of your stuff and get more room for new stuff, you give other fans a chance to buy the stuff, and the money goes to charity! Perfect! smile.gif

A couple of the items we have so far:

* Signed photograph of Neil Ross, the voice of G1 Springer and others
* A bunch of other signed photos (not revealing those yet!)
* A complete Energon Unicron

This is merely a fraction of the items we have in store for you. Want to know what else we have? Then come to the convention! smile.gif

26 September 2011: The website is finally fully live!

As you can see from the new look, the Auto Assembly Europe website is finally fully live! Now you find links in the menu on the left to lots of informative pages on general info, our guests, goodie bag contents, the hotel, tips on how to reach Uppsala when you travel by plane, train, bus and ferry and so on.

Even more pages will be added frequently, so come back often to check what's new!
And if you have any requests on more information that you would like to see, please let us know. Until AAEurope's own contact form is up, you can use the contact form at NTFA.net to send us requests and inquiries!

By the way - a reminder: Don't wait too long to book your hotel room! We have reserved a number of rooms at Clarion Hotel Gillet for our attendees, but after October 14 any unused reservations will be released, meaning that they can be booked by anyone.

21 August 2011: Announcing Auto Assembly Europe 2011

Announcing Auto Assembly Europe!

Auto Assembly 2011 has just ended, but you haven't missed out on the news that there is a second Auto Assembly this year, have you?

That's right, Auto Assembly Europe is here!

Taking place at the Clarion Hotel Gillet in Uppsala, Sweden, on November 12-13 is the premiere Transformers fan convention in the Nordic region! Right smack in the middle of Uppsala, a city filled with history and tradition, is the Clarion Hotel Gillet. Easy to get to, situated on a quiet street free from traffic, close to the busy town centre with restaurants, bars, and shops.

We have looked at what activities and programme items to have in order to make it a great weekend for everyone who joins in on the fun, including a selection of guests and we've listened to who YOU want to see!

The first of our guests is a man who is back in the Nordic region at the request of our voters who participated in the poll we had going earlier this year. It is someone who barely needs an introduction; the one and only living legend, Simon Furman!

Simon Furman started writing for the UK Transformers comic in 1985 and took over the US book in 1989. He has continued writing Transformers books for more than for 25 years, for Marvel Comics, Dreamwave Productions, IDW Publications, and Titan Magazines. He also wrote the final episode of the Beast Wars show on television. We are very excited to have him back at Auto Assembly Europe, and we hope that you are too!

We are working hard to bring you the best possible programme, making sure there is something for just about everyone. We will have not one, but TWO charity auctions during the weekend, auctioning off some great items, including signed photographs! The proceeds will be donated to a charity of our choosing. Full weekend attendees will get an additional BONUS PROGRAMME, and we have something very special planned! Apart from that, there will also be guest talks, FREE autograph sessions, competitions, and much more!

We're also bringing back the famous goodie bag, packed with awesome stuff for attendees, FOR FREE! For starters, we have copies of BOTH the 2009 and 2010 IDW Transformers comics with Auto Assembly exclusive cover arts by artist Nick Roche for the first 100 attendees, ALL of the Auto Assembly 2011 postcards with exclusive art on them, amazing bumper stickers, exclusive lanyards for you to have your Auto Assembly Europe passes in, and more!

All this and a move to a brand new, bigger, more luxurious venue. What more could you ask for? Special discounted room rates from the hotel so it's cheaper for you to stay there? We already did that as well! (Note: You will need a special booking code to get the cheaper rooms!)

Come to Auto Assembly Europe in Sweden this November and be part of a memorable weekend with lots of fun!

Bookings will open soon!
